Help me make a difference
Hi - my daughter Scarlett was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 17 years ago.... at the age of 2. It's a chronic, exhausting condition, requiring constant monitoring and management to avoid any life threatening consequences.
If I could do anything for, I'd take this disease away from her. But I can't do that, so I'm doing what i can do, which is being actively involved in Breakthrough T1D who are working for a cure. The work they have done already has made huge progress in ways of treating this disease and we are getting closer to a cure. But research needs money so I will be riding on 29 November 2025 through the picturesque Barossa Valley. While its very pretty, I'm very unprepared for this cycle... so it will be very difficult for me.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. It can really affect any of us. Any support you can provide is much appreciated.
