Pedalling for a Cause- 40km for Type 1 Diabetes!
On November 29th, Jono and I will be riding 40km through the beautiful Barossa Valley to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes- a cause that is very close to our hearts.
Many of you are aware that our beautiful son George lives with Type 1 Diabetes. His daily "normal" includes managing blood sugars, enduring painful device changes and endless calculations. We dream of a future where kids like him can live freer, easier and healthier lives.
For me personally, 40km will be a huge challenge. But every kilometre will be powered by your support. Every donation - big or small- brings us closer to better treatments, breakthrough research, and maybe one day a cure.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and eight Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and people living with type 1 diabetes face an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. Breakthrough T1D is the largest funder of type 1 diabetes research in the world.
