NOVEMBER UPDATE 2025

We did it! Completed the 83kmT1D ride to raise money for T1D research! With your help we raised $4,763 well above our goal. Now we a hoping we might reach $5000 by the January 2026 cut off!!!!

The weather was windy and cool and at times rainy, but we were inspired by the courage of the riders around us. When it was challenging, we just reminded ourselves that people living with T1D have to make an extra 180 decisions a day to stay safe and healthy. We only had to make one important decision that day - keep pedaling! Thanks again for your generous support.

Four weeks to go until the T1D One Ride Challenge! We have both been training hard and are on track to meet our riding goal to help raise awareness about T1D and the importance of supporting research that helps improve the daily management of T1D and improves long term life outcomes for courageous people like our grandson Harry.❤️

August 2025

Thank you for your continued support for Team Harry. We now have three months until we ride the Breakthrough T1D One Ride to raise funds and awareness to help improve outcomes for people with Type 1 diabetes. Our preparation has been mixed! Kerry is out of hibernation and on track with a few 40km solo rides without a coffee stop! Wayne is still off the bike rehabilitating after a skin cancer removal but will hopefully be back on the wheels soon. He has however managed to keep up with Team Harry!

June 2025

Wow! We have already reached our fundraising goal thanks to all our amazing sponsors. Special thanks this month to our wonderful Sandgate Cycling community. We are humbled by how generously the Sandgate Bunch have supported this cause. Great to see many of you at our thankyou and awareness raising sausage sizzle. Team Harry is just getting started! Time for Kerry to get on the bike! Thanks also to The Fishmonger, Wired Owl, and Mug Shots for supporting our lucky draws.

OUR LAUNCH MAY 2025

Hi there. We, Kerry and Wayne, are doing the Breakthrough T1D One Ride to raise funds for type 1 diabetes! This means riding 80kms on 29 November 2025 through the picturesque Barossa Valley. While we are challenging ourselves (especially Kerry!!) our main goal is to raise funds to support life-changing research to help improve the lives of those living with type 1 diabetes. Our inspiration comes from watching our grandson Harry courageously face the day-to-day challenges of this condition.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and people living with type 1 diabetes (and their parents!) face an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. Breakthrough T1D is the largest funder of type 1 diabetes research in the world.

We would really appreciate it if you could DONATE NOW to help change the lives of more than 130,000 Australians like Harry living with T1D. The research to date in relation to pump and technology has significantly reduced the daily decision making required by Harry and his parents.
