These terms and conditions (Terms) of entry, including information on how to participate and prize details, apply to the promotion, and entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms.
The promoter is Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF Australia) (ACN 002 286 553, ABN 40 002 286 553, DGR 042 753).
1. Eligibility
Entry is open to residents of Australia excluding:
- a) management, employees, directors, and contractors of the promoter, its related bodies corporate, firms, or companies associated with the promotion;
- b) a spouse, defacto spouse, parent, guardian, child, or sibling of a person referred to in paragraph 1(a) of these Terms, including natural and non–natural relations (in the opinion of the promoter).
The promoter is responsible for determining whether a person is an eligible entrant in its absolute discretion.
2. Promotion period
The promotion begins at 12.01am AEST on 1 September 2024 and ends at 11.59pm AEST on 31 October 2025.
3. Entry requirements
To enter, participants must:
- Be a registered One Ride 2025 participant (28–30 November 2025), and
- Successfully refer new cyclists who complete registration and pay their entry fee during the promotion period.
Referral conditions:
- Each referred participant may only nominate one referrer. If multiple claims are received, credit will go to the first referrer recorded.
- Team registrations count as multiple referrals (i.e. each individual team member referred is counted separately).
- Referrals made between 1 September 2024 – 22 August 2025 must be backdated by contacting Tamara Aitchison (taitchison@BreakthroughT1D.org.au or 0402 810 069) to confirm names of those they referred.
- Referrals made from 23 August 2025 onwards must be entered at the time of registration by the referred participant (via the “Referred by” field).
- Referrals will only be accepted if the referred participant is still an active, registered One Ride participant as of 31 October 2025.
- Breakthrough T1D’s records are final and conclusive in relation to referral validity.
4. Game of skill
This promotion is a game of skill. The winners will be determined based on the highest number of valid referrals during the promotion period.
In the event of a tie, the promoter may, at its sole discretion, determine winners based on the highest fundraising total achieved by the tied entrants as of 31 October 2025. Fundraising totals will only be used as a tiebreaker. If still tied, the promoter reserves the right to determine the winner at its sole discretion.
5. Prizes
The top 5 referrers will each receive:
- An upgrade from a Standard Room to a Spa Room at the Novotel Barossa Valley (spa room details available at Novotel Barossa Spa Rooms).
- A $200 welcome pack per room, containing South Australian items such as wine, cheese, and other local goods.
Prize conditions:
- The spa upgrade applies to one room (twin share if that is the existing rooming arrangement).
- If the winning referrer has registered on a Day Rider package, their prize will include:
- Accommodation added to their package for the event; and
- An invitation to attend the Celebration Dinner (without needing to purchase a ticket).
Total prize pool value depends on room upgrades and welcome pack inclusions.
6. Winner selection & notification
- The 5 winners will be determined by 5 November 2025.
- Winners will be notified by email and announced on Breakthrough T1D’s One Ride Facebook page.
- Winners must confirm acceptance within 7 days of notification. If a winner does not respond within this period, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible entrant.
- The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. General conditions
- Prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash, or exchangeable for other items.
- The promoter and their promotional partners are not responsible for any loss or damage in relation to the prize once it has been awarded.
- If for any reason the promotion is incapable of being run as planned, including due to fraud, unauthorised intervention, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter, the promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the promotion.
- Any entrant who, in the opinion of the promoter, tampers or interferes with the entry process, engages in unlawful or improper conduct, or does not comply with these Terms will be deemed ineligible.
8. Privacy
The promoter will use the personal information provided in your entry to conduct the promotion, verify referrals, and award prizes, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
