Almost there

Beautiful day for ride today - blue skies, no wind, crisp air, smooth roads - couldn't have been better. Thanks to my riding companion and coffee drinking friends. Also Merchant Warehouse Cafe.

Fund raising is almost complete. Final surge to the line this Monday, September 29 when we'll be doing a sausage sizzle at Bunnings Bunbury. Come down and say "Hi" (if you live near here!).

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in our endeavours.

Two months to go!

Wednesday 17th Sep
Just over two months to go to the ride in South Australia. Really looking forward to it. Am enjoying the training, although the recent rainy and cold weather has hampered some ride plans. I’ve completed two duathlons recently with the tri club, hoping that putting some added pressure on myself will help build my fitness. The most recent duathlon was completed in pouring rain and clusters conditions so I now feel confident that I can handle whatever weather gets thrown at me on the day :)

What a year

Monday 13th Jan
So, Baden has now had diabetes for 18 years. For 17 years things have been going along quite swimmingly! Then in the last 12 months, we have seen the horrible reality of this terrible disease. On two occasions Baden has been hospitalised - once for being too high for too long, the other for being too low. Both nearly killed him. And so my energy for raising money for research into diabetes has renewed passion.
And as the perfect way to show that there is no way diabetes is going to hold him back, this November Baden will join our team for the ride!! Super excited that we'll be there together :)
