The bribe was real, but so is the cause!
I’m doing the Breakthrough T1D One Ride to raise money for type 1 diabetes research. On 29 November 2025, I’ll be riding through the Barossa Valley for a cause that means a lot to me.
My brother’s already done the ride, so it’s my turn now….and yeah, my mum may have bribed me a bit and just signed me up! I’ll be riding 80 kilometres, and honestly, I haven’t been on a bike in ages, so I’m obviously winging it. Feels a lot like T1D really so unpredictable and definitely a challenge.
I’m doing this for Grace, my sister. T1D doesn’t just affect her, it affects all of us as a family. My mum even jumped out of a plane to raise money (yep, seriously!). She never stops - always amplifying the T1D voice, constantly advocating, and somehow finding her way to the big wigs to push for change that helps the whole T1D community. We back each other and do what we can to make a difference. I’m proud to support Grace every single step of the way.
Type 1 diabetes can hit anyone, anytime. Every day, eight Australians are diagnosed, and it’s a constant 24/7 battle with hundreds of extra decisions just to stay safe and healthy.
I’ve got a big goal to hit and I’ll need every bit of help I can get - so come on, get on it and help me smash this!
(Breakthrough T1D and previously JDRF is the biggest funder of T1D research in the world, and every dollar raised helps improve lives and brings us closer to a cure.)
