I'm fundraising for a great cause!
I'm doing the Breakthrough T1D One Ride to raise funds for type 1 diabetes and I will be riding on 29 November 2025 through the picturesque Barossa Valley. While I am supporting everyone who has taken up the challenge of the ride as I have done since its inception, I am also raising funds to help improve the lives of those living with type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and people living with type 1 diabetes face an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. Breakthrough T1D is the largest funder of type 1 diabetes research in the world.
DONATE NOW to help change the lives of more than 130,000 Australians living with T1D. Thank you!

Iconic pink ONCE Tour jersey has just gone online for sale
Monday 17th Nov
I have just posted the rare pink ONCE Tour edition jersey for sale on eBay.
Check it out here: https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/squadra_h
This is one I wore in the Tour de France and is the only short sleeved jersey I have left. This authentic Tour jersey is hard to find now but has been re-produced many times. It is likely to attract a lot of interest and definitely worth putting on eBay to assist in my fundraising efforts for type 1 diabetes research.
For the Tour de France, ONCE had to change our regular yellow jerseys to something that could not be confused with the yellow Tour leader's jersey. This was the team's second try at a new design after the 1990 green and black jersey! It created a big impact!

Selling an entire pro career of cycling jerseys to help cure type 1 diabetes
Monday 27th Oct
From this weekend I kicked of a progressive auction of every jersey from my entire pro cycling career to raise funds to change the future for people living with Type 1 diabetes.
I can’t take them all with me! Instead, I hope to make a significant difference to my fundraising for One Ride and T1D – a cause I have supported since soon after retiring from pro cycling as the Patron of Ride to Cure Diabetes for 15 years.
I hope the auction via eBay of team kit and special event jerseys that spanned my 13-year international career including a 10 as a pro where I finished 14 Grand Tours, Olympic Games and multiple World Championships will ensure I reach my fundraising target. All are unique and once they are gone, that’s all there is!
If you would like to help with a donation, you can do that here, otherwise keep an eye out for my socials and on eBay under my username 'squadra_h'.
We know that type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. That's why I have committed to auctioning all my remaining pro jerseys for the cause!
The money raised from each jersey less eBay fees and postage will go straight to my fund-raising. I'll acknowledge everyone with initials or full name (with permission) so the impact is clear for those that are successful in the auctions.
If you do get one online in the auction on eBay, I would also love to post a pic of you in the jersey so I can say thanks personally.
More info:
- The jerseys are being auctioned on eBay under my handle ‘squadra_h’ with the first KAS jersey sold at auction this weekend: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/227040256889
- The latest auctions are for a Paternina Team Jersey (TdFrance 1989) here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/227043505509
- And a leaders jersey from the Giro del Trentino in 1990 (ONCE) here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/227043531750
I am posting on Instagram and FB each time a jersey goes up for auction on eBay.
Cheers, Stephen

Great support from Simon C to assist my fundraising efforts by buying an authentic jersey from the 1988 KAS Tour de France team that added sponsorship from Miko just for the event. The Tour started in Berlin that year and I was taken along as a reserve but sadly didn’t start. So the jersey is almost pristine and I only had the one! Thanks Simon.
